Chi-Hi Music Booster Association Point Distribution Information One of our functions is to help earn money for the Chi-Hi music department and its students. Our organization does not profit from money earned. All proceeds are divided among supporting the music department’s goals, providing scholarships for additional musical education and assisting students in earning “points” which, when transferred into dollars approximately twice per school year, results in defraying their personal participation costs in department sponsored trips and events. Students and family members earn points by working at different music department events. Currently 40% of the net profit Chi-Hi Music Boosters earn from fund raising events sponsored throughout the school year goes to the points account. This percentage is determined annually by the Board of Directors when it determines the next year’s budget. Each job is awarded a predetermined number of points. Each point represents an estimated hour of work. Points per job are limited. It is often likely that hours worked may exceed the points assigned for that task, but in order to maintain some control within the point system, the worker will not receive more points than assigned. The chairperson for each event will be responsible for submitting worker’s names and hours worked to the Points Chair after each event. The chairperson’s hours do not need to be listed on sheets. The chairperson will receive a predetermined amount of points for hours put in before and during the event. The Point Chair will have sheets available to chairs for this purpose at monthly meetings and on this organization’s website. Points earned for individual tasks cannot be split between students. For example: if one family has two or more students, points for an individual job will be given to only one student. A second’s job’s points may be applied to the other student. But points will not be spilt between them. Point options for graduating Seniors: 1. Bank points for upcoming brother or sister who is already in 6th grade or older—the family account will be held open, dollar amount for that period will be deposited in the family account. 2. Donate unused points to the music department, generally or to a specific group within the music department. Points Payouts are done twice per school year, decided by the board and staff of the music department.
