On Saturday, October 14, 2006, the Chi-Hi Marching Cardinals held their
"home show," Music on the Chippewa .
It was a very cold night, but at least it didn't rain.
Here are some photos from my FZ30. I knew that shots of the bands on the field would not very good due to the low light, so I took some extra pictures of the Chi-Hi band in the opposite stands before the sun set. (They have a tradition of spelling out with their bodies the letter of the band competing -- for example, they made a giant "SCF" when St. Croix Falls was on the field.) Special highlights of the night included representatives of Missouri bands who presented an $11,000 check to the Greenhalgh Family Endowment Fund, and the always-popular and amazing "Marching Blugolds" from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire who capped off the evening.
