On Sunday, October 15, 2006, the Chi-Hi Marching Cardinals competed in
nearby Menomonie. Unlike
last night, the weather was fantastic! Not only did the sun
provide a warm glow, it also illuminated the faces and let me use a
nice, fast shutter speed (1/1000) at the same time as a slow ISO (100)
with my FZ30,
allowing me to get nice close-ups of band members on the field.
(I finally even got a close-up of saxophone soloist Ryan McDowell, that
had been eluding me for four contests now!)
