On Sunday, December 2, 2007 (my half-birthday!), the
Chi-Hi madrigals
and orchestra put on their annual "Torte Theater" at
the
Heyde Center for the Arts
in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Choir director Ron Buckles mentioned to
the audience that he never dreamed while in college that he'd some day
be able to direct at a high school with such high-calibre music, where
they could put together productions that spanned departments (choir and
orchestra).
After the concert, audience members and students enjoyed a wide variety of homemade torte desserts.
Production notes: I used my FZ30 digital camera from the balcony for the concert shots, with full-manual settings. The lighting was pretty low for the singers, so they're not very good...but hopefully better than nothing. (Sorry I didn't get very many -- I was late due to a quartet show in Menomonie that afternoon.)
