On the weekend of October 18-19, 2008, the Chi-Hi Marching
Cardinals competed in state
marching band competition at UW-Whitewater.
Like last year, the Cards drove buses
down to Sun Prairie to stay overnight on the gym floor, only this time
we didn't leave home until Saturday morning.
The weather was great again this year! I was able to get a lot of close-ups of the afternoon rehearsal at Sun Prairie High School. I didn't get much of the competition itself, since I was videotaping it. But that's okay, since they wouldn't have been that good anyway, and I already have over 600 for the day! (I think that's a new record for me!) The cards battled to a fourth place finish in AAAA, the toughest division, being outscored only by suburban Milwaukee high schools. Anyway, here are some photos I took with my FZ50. If you do want to make color prints of any of these, feel free -- just make sure to click the small to get the medium, and click on the medium to get the high-res fullsize shot before you download for printing.
Enjoy!

P.S. -- I can easily add captions to any photo by editing one plain text file, thanks to the amazing MOPFISH software. So if you want me to add a person's name to a closeup, just send me an email! (Include the URL of the web page, not the picture number: I.e, I need "pA180006", not "213 of 641"). |
